New Feature in Web of Science

Web of Science(WoS) has added a cross-search option to its results page. When you have performed a search on WoS a new link "View additional results in other databases" appears at top of the results page. If you click this you will be presented with results on 3 tabs:

• ISI Web of Knowledge Results - all other ISI databases to which we subscribe ie ISI Proceedings
• External Collections Results - sends search to a variety of external free databases, such as PubMed, Agricola
• Current Web Contents - database of Evaluated Web Sites produced by Thompson Scientific

Cross searching has some limitations in that wildcards and some boolean operators eg SAME may not be recognised, especially in the External Collections.
