Publishers to spread misinformation about Open Access
Nature News reports that a group of major commercial publishers have been taking advice from a leading PR consultant, to help them fight the Open Access movement.
Noting that "Media messaging is not the same as intellectual debate" (in other words, it doesn't matter if you lie!), they suggest that the publishers will try to falsely equate open access with government censorship and lack of peer review.
