Beware publishers bearing gifts

"How not to launch a journal" from Ivan Oransky's blog gives an insight into the way some publishers operate. Bentham publishing has increased its stable of titles over the last few years quite rapidly. Not all are high-quality.

Library not closed

The visit that was to have taken place today has been cancelled, so the Library will remain open all day after all.

Toolbar problems in Word

The toolbars for Endnote and Reference Manager in Word will stop working if an add-in called FlashPaper is installed.

FlashPaper allows the production of PDF documents, it gets installed into Word automatically when you install programmes such as Macromedia Contribute. If you don't need or want to use FlashPaper the simplest way to solve the problem is to "Uninstall Flashpaper" using the option in the Macromedia software programme list.

If you want to keep FlashPaper working, please contact Patti in the library (x 2380) for advice.

Journal of Biochemistry has a problem

Issues of J Biochem between 2003 and 2005 are currently unavailable. This has been chased with the publishers and we hope to restore access soon.
